Meta’s New Page Experience

You may have noticed your Facebook, aka Meta Business Page, has a new look. This “New Page Experience” comes with a few added features, and your settings have been moved around. Let’s walk through the changes together. As with all updates from Meta, the New Page Experience is rolled out slowly to users, so you may or may not have it. Hang tight…it’s coming your way soon.

The most significant changes to note are:

1. Switch Profiles: This gives the ability to quickly switch between your personal profile and your business pages. When you switch to your business page, you will now use Facebook as your business, similar to how Instagram handles multiple accounts.

2. Updated Page Management roles: In the past, when adding users to your Facebook page, you’d select between admin, editor.. etc. With the New Page Experience, you’ll grant a user ‘Facebook access’ or ‘Task Access.’

Facebook Access includes the following:

  • Manage and edit all setting

  • Grant Users Permission (i.e. Facebook Access or Task Access)

  • Create, manage or delete any content on the page, such as posts, Stories, and more.

  • Community Engagement: respond to or remove comments and messages and report activity on the Page.

  • Ads management

  • Access to page insights

  • Instagram account linking

  • Access to manage the business page from all platform tools (Meta Business Suite, Ads Manager, Creator Studio)

Task Access:

With task access, you will not be able to switch into the New Page Experience, but you will also have access to other platforms that allow you to manage the task you control through the ads manager and business managers.

3. Business Newsfeed: Now, Facebook has focused on the business Newsfeed. Although your business page has always had a business page Newsfeed which allows you to engage with other brands, the New Page Experience Newsfeed is set up for more seamless interaction.

4. Professional Dashboard: View insights, manage your platform and find resources.

  • Overview: Get reporting on your post’s reach, engagement, likes, and audience.

  • Ad Center: Manage ads and create new ones. Note: this is different from your Ad Manager. Ad center is for managing ads you create from your Page. The Ads Manager allows for more complex targeting.

  • Invite Friends to Follow: Invite your personal FB friends to follow your Facebook business page.

  • Page Access: Manage roles and access for your Page.

  • Business Meta Suite: Access your Meta business suite for scheduling and other useful tools.

  • Fan Engagement Tool: Turn on or off the Top Fan Badges to recognize your most engaged followers.

  • Moderation Assist: Assign action for Moderation Assist to automatically perform, such as filtering profanity, block keywords, and apply rules for comments on your content.

  • New Pages Guide: Learn more about the new page experience

  • Business help center.

That’s a quick rundown of what’s new; please reach out if you have any questions!
